WEB-ED Webpage and Scripting Editor
Version 5.88
End-User License Agreement
WEB-ED is copyrighted software. Use of the program and/or payment of the license fee does not constitute ownership of the program. Ownership is retained by the author.

The WEB-ED Editor program, as installed, is a trial version. It is fully functional but is different from the licensed version in two ways. 1) There is a brief "splash screen" when the trial version starts. 2) The licensed version comes with email-based support (within the limitations described below in the SUPPORT section). Please consider purchasing the licensed version of WEB-ED Editor if you find the program useful.

The conditions for licensed use of WEB-ED Webpage and Scripting Editor are as follows:

The WEB-ED program is licensed to the person in whose name the license fee is paid. You may install WEB-ED on as many of your home or work computers as is necessary to fascilitate your use of the program. The WEB-ED license is not connected to a particular computer, hard disk, etc.

SUPPORT:

WEB-ED tech. support is not explicitly or implicitly promised. The low cost of the software makes it unrealistic to offer a tech. support guarantee. You use this software at your own risk. However, an attempt is made to answer email from licensed users of the program, to the extent that it is feasible. Any queries, requests for help, or requests for possible new features in WEB-ED are always welcome from people who have paid for the software.

INSTALL ISSUES:

On newer Microsoft Windows(R) systems there may be extreme security settings in place. In order to make WEB-ED Editor usable, if your system is installed on an NTFS file system that allows for user permissions settings, the installer will set permission for all to access the program subfolders (inside the WEB-ED Editor program folder) in order for the program to function normally. The installer will also grant permission to all users to access the WEB-ED Registry key. Again, this is done so that all users can use WEB-ED normally without needing to log on as an "Administrator". These actions by the installer will probably be of no concern to nearly all people. The changes in permissions only apply specifically to the WEB-ED Editor program. However, in an environment such as a restrictive corporate workstation install, permission for all to use the software may be deemed unacceptable. If you do not want these permissions set then do not install this software.

PRIVACY ISSUES:

The WEB-ED Editor program is NOT 'adware' or 'spyware'. Aside from the link to JSWare in the "About" window, WEB-ED has no ability to create an Internet connection and no ability to communicate over such a connection. Note, however, that the browser window derives from Internet Explorer, which can connect online. The browser window is set to Offline during program operation to prevent unwanted connections.

JSWare does not have a privacy policy per se, aside from the dictates of common sense and common decency: That the purchase of a WEB-ED license does not grant to JSWare any right to seek unnecessary personal information from you; nor does it grant a right to sell such information as you may provide; nor does it grant a right to initiate clandestine, online communication for any purpose. This policy does not and cannot extend to a sales agent through which online purchase of a WEB-ED license may be made.

DISTRIBUTION :

The WEB-ED Editor program installer (except beta versions) may be distributed singly or by any mass distribution medium provided that the whole program installation file, and only that file, is distributed intact, complete and unaltered; and that there is no fee charged for the program installation file other than reasonable charges for cost of distribution.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY:

The WEB-ED Editor program is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. The author further disclaims all warranties, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchant-ability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. The entire risk arising out of the use or performance of the product and documentation remains with recipient to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

In no event shall the author be liable for any consequential, incidental, direct, indirect, special, punitive, or other damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages from loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or other pecuniary loss) arising out of this agreement or the use of or inability to use the product, even if the author has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
